rose comb brown leghorns

I kept them for about four years before I went to college. I really liked them. They were flighty just because they were more actice compared to say a Rock, Wyandotte, Cochins, etc, but I wouldnt ever say they were wild. Laying ability with these guys varied a lot but it may have just been my line. I had a hen that I was lucky to get 10 eggs out of a year but she was my best hen. Some of her daughters would lay just about the same as her but others would lay like crazy.

I didnt like this guy's comb too much but he had other redeeming qualities.

This cock was about 8 years old in this picture. Back in the day he was a really nice male just had a run in with a predator through the wire and messed his comb and a wattle up pretty bad.
