Why aren't any of my chickens going broody?

My best broody is a cuckoo Marans. I also have a black copper that tried to brood at only 8 months, but I kept taking her eggs. Next summer I will set her up with a separate box.

I may actually need 4 boxes. Now I have cubalayas and they are a broody breed too. Some folks around here keep a few game hens in with their layer flocks to brood replacement chicks.
 
I have 32 hens under a year old laying eggs. My 2 silkies and a mille fleur d'uccle stay broody since they were 6 months old. My others are rocks, wyandottes, orpingtons, ee's, faverolles, polish, and marans, only an ee has been broody once too.
