Raising Silkies or Minorcas to butcher - how long?

here's one for you:

Last winter, I put the axe to a bunch of roosters. In order of most impressive carcass quality:

Black Laced Red Cornish
Dark Cornish
White Laced Red Cornish
Blue Laced Red Cornish
Cornish x Show Q Ameraucana
Cornish x silkie

then distantely a bunch of 'farm king' dual purpose roosters...

Sad, but true-- the silkie crosses smoked the farm king 'dual purpose' roosters who were on average 2.5 months older.
May I see some pictures of your Cornish crosses you mention above? They are very interesting, had wanted to try those crosses you mention up there. I have some true Ameraucana already and a few large fowl silkie meat types birds, not the little bantam fluffy balls many seems to raise. Now I just need some LF cornish birds to play with.

I am about to butcher 2 silkie roo's along with a polish roo, and 2 buff orph x easter egger roos tomorrow morning. I've tried giving the silkies away several times so I figured we'd just try eating them. They are aweful looking as far as silkie's go and mean to boot. I'll post later how it goes :).

I haven't eaten silkie but may try it soon.
There's a huge Asian/latin market here that has a huge freezer full of silkies. The freezer just has a sign on the side that says 'black chicken'.
