American Lavender Geese

I have an American Blue Gander. I lost his mate last summer and tried to get him a replacement mate this winter but they didn't have an extra female. So... I did what any concerned mom would do... I ordered 4 assorted color American goslings for this spring! Hopefully he will bond with them and stop thinking he is a giant duck. The ducks that were raised with him view him as their leader. Its pretty cute. He likes to run along side my car when I pull in the driveway and flap his wings. He knows who the treat giver is! He also can hear the sound of my car and will honk when he hears it.

I highly encourage anyone to try these. They are beautiful and have a great personality. I hope to get a lavender in the mix this spring. If not, I will just breed the blues! I was suprised at how quiet the geese are. The ducks make much more noise!
 
I am trying to find atleast one female adult in KY, OH, IN, TN, or WV... Anyone able to help me out?

Everyone's are from Holderread's stock. If not directly, indirectly. Dave Holderread developed both the American Blues and American Lavs as designer breeds on his farm.

Some will, some won't. Lavender is double recessive blue. So if B is the dominant form of the blue gene and b is the recessive form of the blue gene a bb goose will be lavender. If you have two heterozygous blues, that is blues who carry one dominant and one recessive copy of the gene, 25% of their offspring will be lavender.
 
I am so glad to hear you may be selling the lavender and blue eggs this spring. I have read about the breed and think that I would love to try some. I have Troulouse and Chinese Brown geese that I hatched out in the incubator for my daughter. Now every egg we get has to go into the incubator. I would love to get a more gentle breed than the Chinese. The Troulouse are females and are very gentle but my gander is a Chinese and he can be a pain sometimes. The good thing is that he is very protective of his little harem. I will watch for you to post your eggs.
