Sponsored Post Combine nutrition and your chickens natural instincts!

Correct, JenniO11 is a member of BYC's team. She helps me work directly with BYC Sponsors and helps to manage sponsored contests, posts, etc.

Thanks for that clarification. Supporting the Backyard Chickens community is a dream realised. Who would've known that after all these tens of centuries, the chicken hobbyist would have such an exciting and progressive future?

I have three beautiful BO hens that are 2 years old. I have one that last summer AND this summer has been picking butt feathers from one particular hen! I've been trying to find things to keep them busy in hopes of stopping the feather picking. (poor baby has a bald spot on her tush!) I've got the treat balls, I've hung bottles full of scratch or other treats, I let them out for supervised field trips daily... Friday I purchased the Farmers Helper Hot cake... I don't like to feed them anything that isn't layer feed or something I would eat out of the garden. These girls diet is very clean. Having said that... I am resistant to purchasing these kinds of things for them. WELL, let me tell you that it has been the BEST THING EVER! First off, the feather picker is afraid of the hanging block so she basically stays away from it. She will sneak in and eat what the other girls drop. The hen with the bald spot... her poo has been weird before this... I don't know how much she has been allowed to eat by the bully. Now her poo is solid and regular! I will purchase this again! I think I will make it a weekend treat for them. It has been 3 days and they are not 3/4 done with it yet. I'll take it up today and put it in the freezer until next friday! It's a lot of fun to watch them try to eat it too!
