Chicken sprained leg?

Hi,

 

I am new to this forum and new to keeping chickens.  Doris my 24 week old Maran has started limping I have checked her foot and all appears fine.  She is eating drinking and laying as normal.  Any ideas??

I have 1 Mendlesham Blue, 1 Mendlesham Ranger, 1 Mendlesham Amber and 1 Coral Nick. . . . . . But I would like more!!! I also have a chicken dog called Max who is a Cavapoo.

It sounds like you've done your best to make sure the problem isn't an infection of the foot.  Chickens sprain their legs sometimes, it's just a fact of life. 

 

She'll heal on her own in just a few days.  Chickens heal REALLY fast.  Just keep an eye on her to make sure she's improving and able to reach food and water.
