I'm so excited! I sold my flock two years ago when I got my labrador puppy and I'm extremely happy to be getting chickens again (and some ducks this time, too!)! I'm splitting an order with my friend from Hoover's Hatchery - my first experience with having chicks shipped, so I hope everything goes well. They're supposed to ship May 30th, so only 5 weeks!

I can hardly wait!

I'm getting 15 -
2 Gold Stars
2 Black Stars
2 Barred Plymouth Rocks
2 White Plymouth Rocks
2 Buff Orpingtons
2 Silver Laced Wyandottes
3 Easter Eggers

I have an order coming on May 30th also!! I'm not sure what hatchery they're coming from though, I ordered from our local feed store and didn't think to ask. I've got 15 CXs, 5 Jersey Giants, and 5 EE's coming, I'm sooo excited! My coop is almost done and I've got 17-6 week old chicks that can't wait to move in; 11 barred rocks, 3 BO, and 3 reds.

Congrats on your order, its a nice mix!

Thanks! Exciting! You have a nice mix, too. I've never had Jersey Giants yet, but they're pretty birds.

And I loved my barred rocks! Welcome to BYC!

My babies are coming May 15, I have never had chickens before. I always wanted them but never figured I could have them with my cattle dogs, one of my dogs died and I felt kind of lost and thought why can't I have chickens. I ordered from Meyers hatchery. I couldn't make up my mind so I got a 25 pullet rainbow chicks they give you at least 5 different breeds of their large breed, rare breeds. I also got one EE and one Black Jersey Giant rooster for my son. Can't wait.

You must be so excited! I can hardly wait until the end of May - that moment when you first open the box and your tiny little fluffy babies are peeping inside...oh, it's so wonderful!

I hope you really enjoy them! Make sure to post photos when they arrive!

Wordgirl, they are here!! And so awesome! But I lost three so far one before they got here one yesterday and one this moring. They all seem to be doing ok now running around like crazy then they are so tired that they just plop down and sleep in all kinds of strange ways. Its going to be fun trying to figure out what breeds they are. I do know that I got some Jersey Giants, black one because my son ordered some and picked them up today and I have ones just like his! We did order a Jersey rooster for him maybe thats why they added some pullets. I bet you can't wait for yours. Shhhhhhh don't tell anyone but today I ordered four EE because I only ordered one and I am pretty sure it died. Here's pic's:

I'm not 100% sure, but those buff/gold ones with the stripes running down their backs might be Golden Buffs - they look a lot like the ones I've had before. I love them - they're wonderful layers! Congratulations on your babies!
