Pool for the chickens?

I have two old planters that are filled with dirt from the garden for dust baths. My girls love them so much I call it the chicken hot tub!

This is an older pic, before they moved out to the new run.

My chickens made themselves their own dust bath too. It keeps getting bigger and bigger too. I am going to take the bucket and fill it with dirt from the feild for them to use. :)
 
we live on 50 acres in the forest and trees do fall so it is uncommon for us to not have a fire going outside. usually whereever the tree fell we make a fire pit close by, after we burn it all up and a new one falls, and the pit moves, the chickens take over the pile of ashes. most days they are packed 6 deep in a little circle kicking up tons of dust, after they are done they just lay there and sun themselves. It seems to be there favorite thing to do besides following us. the pit is about the only thing they will not abandon when we walk outside. Just to be clear make sure the ashes are cool first.
