What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning all. Glad to hear your Mom is on the mend @karenerwin. I managed to get just a little bit of cleaning done in the garden. That is until my rooster started chasing one of the hens that really wasn't in the mood. Yesterday turned out to be a nice day after the cool start. Today is supposed to be sunny and mild as well. I'm hoping to get busy on some gardening chores in the front yard later this week after the mid-week deluge. And I'm thinking of mowing the front yard one last time for this season. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning gardeners:frow

@karenerwin great news about your mom!

Daytime highs are in the mid to upper 80s, but overnight lows around 60. I needed a tshirt over my jammies when I went outside. FYI that's a wee chilly here

Not much happening in the garden, waiting for seeds to sprout. I've been out to water already, this time of year it's dark when I go out there but I can see well enough.

I gave my DIL 5 pullets last night from my flock. 3 are at POL or laying already, 2 still have a few months to go but should be laying by Spring. Just in time too, I have 2 pullets and 5 cockerels to integrate into the big coop so the next batch of chicks can brood outside. Lots of yardwork and coop cleaning after work this week!

Have a great day everyone :)

Rainy today. Coop will get cleaned out tomorrow, and the dirty stuff will go into the compost pile.

I think grass seed in front no longer needs watering, neither does the grassy berm and channel where we seeded all around the cut sod. However, might need to water the dirt berm another time or two ...the rain and clouds today will be good, but that sun and wind sure dries out exposed dirt when trying to grow grass!

need to buy a heated base for the galvanized waterer. Need to bring out the heated dog bowl for the coop.
