What did you do in the garden today?

More plants may, or may not, have followed me home. LOL.
It's funny, I was just catching up on todays posts thinking we all have in common that every time we leave the house we come home with new plants!

I went out with a friend & ended up with 2 lavender plants & a hanging flower basket. & a solar light wind spinner garden decoration thing. & some ties for the plants. Ugh & a new shovel & a plant stand & more pots for the starts. That's it, I swear. :gig :gig :gig

I bought pepper plants. I don't start them. They dislike me.
So two 4 packs of banana peppers.

BUT when I was tossing them on the shelf at home I saw that my flat of tomato starts was ready to be transplanted. So may as well before bed. SO....

Another 60 solo cups of early girl, better boy, and beef tomatoes. I didn't start many of those, but I grow them deep and strong and people here are willing to pay for that over scrawny leggy mass market ones.

So THAT"S done.

I am POOFED.

Odds and ends things to finish on started chores tomorrow and the dog to the nail trimmer and bath station. It's my day "OFF". LOL. And it will be windy, dry and 90.

Then I'll start a few more odds and ends of the 'to do' list on Tuesday. Dippy things, like wash and bleach all the animal water 5 gallon buckets, and build a bigger grow out area for the 'dirty dozen'.

I’m a bit jealous of everyone who lives where they still sell tomatoes and peppers in packs. Bonnie plants has a monopoly here. All their tomato and pepper plants are singles that cost $5 a plant. The only place I’ve seen that sells something that isn’t Bonnie is an extremely sketchy gas station near work and I don’t feel comfortable enough there to stop and browse the plants.

Ditto, but inside the stores (Lowes mostly) typically has the multi packs. If I have to get the single, I keep it to one or two of just what I can’t do without.

The garden is coming along. Transplanting some more things some time this week likely. I did add thyme to the herb bed, or I should say I taught DW how to transplant starts outside into the beds by walking her through it. Now I can get her to transplant 32 tomatoes and 32 peppers. Lol! I also planted the Jerusalem artichokes with DS. He loves plopping tubers into holes. We did get more dirt moved where we are regrading and leveling part of the yard, but we are not done yet. The biggest problem is becoming where to put the dirt. It's mostly top soil so I can add a few more wheel barrows to the raised bed the peppers are going in to make up for settling before we transplant. Other than that though, there's going to be about a cubic yard of dirt that I need to relocate or get rid of somehow.
