Baffling Faverolle Chick **updated pics**

I reallky don't have much to add other than to say that I got 2 salmon faves from our feed store this past weekend at 8 days. They both look exactly like your female with the lighter coloring. I have been a little curious bc one has a comb starting that is much larger than the other. These are my first chicks, so I wasn't paying much attention and it was a pullet run. But now I am curious bc I have 2 of 8 that do not have any tail feathers while the other 6 do....they are a mix of breeds though....but I won't be able to keep a roo and am so attached to them already!!

I have 5 SF chicks that have that hatchery quality feathering thing going on and can't tell one way or another about them. I thought they were all pullets to begin with but I have two that are developing dark feathering on their throat areas. I have seen black bearded hens before so that is a possibility with mine I guess. It seems common for hatchery hens to have some black feathering. Hope it turns out the way you want!

I wish Cloverleaf or PiperOmar would chime in here.... I have SF chicks I just got from Piper, the same age as both of yours, and I was supposed to be getting 4 pullets, maybe 5 - I'm not sure, but it looks like I may have 2 pullets and 3 cockerels. I think I'll have to pick one and rehome the others, too many boys here!

TexasLea - I'm not an expert, but they look like pullets to me.....based on my own SFs and what I've been told, mine are just as dark as yours....with the exception of 2, and mine came from breeder stock.

At lunch I'll try to get my pics up, I took some about 3 days ago.

"A swank shak for my fru-fru yard art," - great line, btw
