Hello, I currently have 2 golden laced wyandottes that are about 9 months old and I was going to buy some new baby chicks from the local fair that is hatching some. I heard that if you put the babies in with the adults, the adults will kill them. . . is that true? Because the weather right now is very HOT so I was hoping that I wouldn't have to make a brooder for them if I was only going to get about 2 or 3 more chicks. . . and if the answer is no, then when would be best for me to introduce the chicks? Thanks

Hello there! The answer to you question is yes, the adult hens will be agressive towards the chicks, and they can injure or even kill them. You will definitely need a separate place to keep them, until they're larger......
