Hi everyone,
I know that shedding intestinal lining is normal in poop. But I have a hen who has shed lining in every single poop. She has been injured from another chicken pretty bad into her stomach area. A couple other hens pecked at an old wound until you could see her lung/cavity area. Although it has almost healed I'm wondering if it may have caused internal/permanent damage? So altogether I'm wondering how often is lining in the poop normal or abnormal? Thanks so much!

To be honest, I have been raising birds for about 3 years now, and never really saw "shed lining" so to speak. I know that it happens, and that it is common, but I suspect if you have a bird that was hurt it might better be a symptom of that... (kinda giving you a bump) Good luck with your feathery patient!

i would take her to the vetand see what they say
She actually got better, which was amazing, because the other chickens had pecked a massive hole in her. We kept it treated and covered, and she healed up so fast. And, she never stopped laying through all of this! This little chicken should've been dead so many times, but I believe she had 9 lives, like a cat.

Unfortunately, her lives ran out in November when a hawk attacked her. She was a sweet little thing that made it through so much.
