These "chicks" are now 17 1/2 weeks old. They were hatched from brown eggs and were fluffy yellow chicks. I believe we have 3 cockerels and one pullet. The boys just started crowing this past weekend, and waking up at 5am is getting old. No information on the breed as they were hatched in my son's classroom. I'm thinking they are Rhode Island Whites? I'm looking into rehoming the boys, since we can't have roosters where we live, and it would be nice if I knew the breed. Opinions? Please? :)

This one has started crowing for sure:

Pretty sure the only girl:

Thank you!

Look to be red sex link males, at least some. One likely has Leghorn blood, that is for sure. Likely different combinations of barnyard mixes, with RSL hens perhaps being the mothers, since the eggs were brown. Really, there'd only be guessing as to which was what. The pullet is pretty.

No RIW in the photo. They are rare, impossibly rare, and have rose combs.

Those are fine barnyard mix roosters. They'll have to sell themselves with excellent temperments or some other outstanding trait, or market them as dinner.
