that's great! congrats on healthy girls!

We were just given 3 two-year old golden comet hens today who were part of a small flock that one or two had gotten into poison put out for mice. The lady we got them from wasn't sure which hens had gotten into the stuff, but only one showed some bloody droppings the next day and they all acted fine aside from that. This was about 18 days ago. Someone told her that after a week the poison would be out of their systems if they had any, but from what I'm reading in this thread, that's not the case. I've not seen runny noses, etc., so far. They've all been eating and drinking fine. So what about the eggs? Are they safe after a couple weeks or never?

I'm glad your chickens are doing ok, I know how stressful it is waiting to see if they ate enough to get sick. It takes longer than a week for them to be out of the woods, and but at 3 weeks, and I think your safe. I think the eggs are probably fine at this point, but if you are worried, wait another week. I also gave mine vitamin k just in case. They never showed signs of bleeding like yours, so vitamin k may be a good idea for a few weeks after ingestion.
