He gets on top of her and steps all over her, while pinning her head to ground????

It has been going on for about a month, they are 4 months old. I just got 2 more females but he does not want anything to do with them. So now i have 3 females and 2 drakes.

She has nothing that you described.........thanks she seems like a happy duck so far.

Some ducks do fine as pairs. But there are so many cases where the drake wears the duck out, and can kill her. Keep a close eye on them. They may turn out to be a happy couple, long term. I sure hope so.

Thanks for all the input, just wanted to make sure this is normal, but I will watch her

I keep an eye on mine because he seems to like getting her in the water! One time he had her whole head pushed under the water and it scared me but she seemed to get out of it and then I couldn't believe she started going into the water and flirting again! lol
I have 2 males and 2 females. I just keep an eye, like other people said and watch for feathers missing around the neck or lethargy.

I have seen this going on 9 yrs now and thought for sure one of mine would be drowned by now. It is completely normal. Maybe not to us but in duck world it is. If one of my younger boys goes after my old ladies 8yrs plus I do step in and stop him, too many young ones to stand on and chase.
