I've heard that silkies aren't supposed to be very good layers. I got silkies cuz I thought they were cute, not cuz I wanted eggs from them.
I have one cute black silkie hen, and a white silkie rooster. (My other hen got killed). She started laying eggs a few weeks ago; and she has done what no other hen I have ever did. She laid more than one egg in a day. She laid three eggs one day, and two the next; and faithfully lays at least one egg a day.
Has anyone ever had this experience?
