I just got a lovebird a few weeks ago and I must say that I am very happy with my little "Blue". Here are some pictures of him/her (waiting on DNA test results.. should be in this week

) Blue just turned 3months old and is extremely friendly and curious.

She is very pretty :)
Enjoy her, have you ever owned a lovebird?
if you did not, sometimes nature calls, don't get your feelings hurt if she becomes nippy or might bite very hard, its not you, once nature calls she is going to claim her cage as a nest, she will become very nippy. Its just her way of protecting her nest .
Also a little fun you can get a hamster wheel (metal) and teach her to run on it SUPERVISED ONLY, NEVER LET HER DO IT WITHOUT YOU, but its really fun.plus they can balance on a tennis ball they have a blast playing that. :)

Thanks!
Couldn't find my old hamster wheel so I'll probably get one sooner or later. She is a bit nippy in her cage but at least the kids know not to bug her and I take her out and she's out pretty much all day and has several food and water stations around the house LOL. She's great with my girls and loves to sit on shoulders. Her wings are clipped so that she can still get used to us and I'd like to teach her some tricks as well.
Would love to get a friend for her eventually but I've heard they bond and then don't want to be bothered with anymore?

You might think about cockateil instead of the same breed (lovebird) .the right teils can give your kids great times without that bite like a lovebird, and a buddy to your baby (just not in the same cage) I have both lol, teils seems to play longer and love to chew on your kids homework lol
:D

Trying to write my post and my teils had to help, lol three of them touching the touch screen and typing KIDS LOL gotta love them!!!
I talked about my Chripy (lovebird) in other post, he was handraised and shared his baby box with a cockateil named Scruffy, those two are bonded. Chripy has no ideal that he is a lovebird, he acts like a teil, and wants nothing to do with my other lovebirds, he is my only lovebird that will not bite, anyone can pet him, he thinks and acts like a cockateil.
Digger and Gizmo are both females lovebirds (in different cages) they get nippy a lot.my granddaughter Kota (going on three) she loves to play with Gizmo, Gizmo bit her many times drawing blood, but Kota still loves to sit and have (fake) tea party with Gizmo.Gizmo in her cage, Kota giving her a plastic tea cup, its so cute as Gizmo would grab the cup and try to pull inside her cage, Kota would just laugh pure laughter as Kota pulls the cup from Gizmo and take a sip of fake tea then give it back to Gizmo, this goes on for about an hour. But Kota knows about bits lol so she keeps her fingers out of Gizmo cage.
but if you want a buddy for your friend try a cockateil, just keep your eyes open when they are together, lovebirds sometimes will get upset and go after a toe (another bird)
Bird channel.com is a really fun site, you can show off your bird, and other bird owners or birds that own you!! They post very funny stories about their lives, in a bird point of view, you talk for your bird, as the bird. Its a blast hearing about the crazy stories about their mom and dad .:D
