Sick rooster ? Safe to butcher ?

I had a rooster separated from hens, only way I can do that is by putting him in a cage.
I was planning on butchering him, but all of a sudden he can’t crow anymore and is sneezing…

Is he safe to butcher ?

Hard to know what's going on with him.

If you question whether it's safe to eat him or not, then it may be best to bury instead of consume.

I would not butcher any chicken that I thought was unhealthy. It's just not worth the risk to me or my family.

Can you wait a few days to see if the rooster recovers and/or dies on its own? You might be able to make a better decision if you wait a bit.
