Splayed leg advice

I have a day old chick with a slightly splayed leg. I just did the bandaid method and now all she does is peck her feet and roll around. Is this OK? I'm not sure if I am doing more harm than good. :( Poor thing, I feel terrible.
 
Can you post a pic? I just want to make sure you have the correct width in between.

But generally speaking, yes it is fine. The first few hours they can't really do much until they get the hang of it. Within a day or so they should be running around just fine with the band aid on. I find the band aid falls off naturally within a few days and the chick is usually fine after that. Occasionally you may need to do a second band aid.

Keep with it because the band aid fix works great!

Here's a pic. I really feel terrible. This is only my second time hatching. :( Can she hurt herself pecking and pecking at her feet?

PERFECT!

She will get the hang of walking with the band aid on and you are doing her a HUGE favor by correcting it now. I know it sad to watch her now but trust me by tomorrow she will be up and about. Just be sure to check on her and make sure she is getting to food and water tomorrow.

Just wanted to thank you again! The little chick is doing great! I've replaced the bandage once, and I think I'll be able to remove it for good in a few days. :)
