What color eggs do Silkies lay?!?

Hi, I am wondering what color eggs do silkies lay? I'm confused. Some people say cream colored, some say white. Which is right?

Mama to 98 chickens And I have 2 broody hens. One is setting on 2 eggs, the other is setting on 5.  I lost my favorite chicken Nov. 25th 2012 to my cat Demi. She was a mix breed bantam. I also lost five White Silkies to a raccoon. two cats (Demi and Lulu), one Angus bull calf, (T-Bone), sister to seven siblings, and incredible daughter to one Grateful Daddy and Mommy.

Theyr're cream colored (tinted). Some are lighter, some are darker, but most of mine are cream. I was going to post a pic, but the mobile website isn't playing nice today hmm.png

Ok, thanks!

Questions

How often do silkies go broody? When do they usually start crowing? Do they lay a lot of eggs?

Thanks, =)

This is going to be a very generalized answer, bc naturally, it depends on the individual bird smile.png
My Silkies lay pretty well, usually averaging 5-6 eggs per week if the weather is decent. Mine seem to slow down when it's really cold, but even then I usually get anywhere from 2-5 a week.
Most hens known for broodiness *usually* wait until the spring/summer months, but there are always those ones that'll try to sit in the dead of winter. Broodiness depends on a number of factors. Weather/hormones/how often you collect eggs. I've read on this forum where some peoples Silkies have never gone broody, and others have laid one or two eggs and then decided they needed babies.
So, the only thing I can say for sure is you'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out wink.png

My silkie eggs are cream colored, when they do lay. Mine rarely lay anything, but are constantly broody. Not so much right now in the dead of winter, but it causes huge problems with my non-broody hens who just want to lay an egg in the nest box in the spring, summer, and fall. My silkies basically live in my garage during those times smile.png

I have two silkies that just started to lay...one lays a cream colored egg with very faint spots on it and the other a bright white also with spots. Question though...I have a silkie trio, but no fertile eggs yet... Is it harder to get fertilized silkie eggs?
