When I got my chicks on Nov 1 they all seemed normal. As one of them grew up I noticed that she had an odd 'collar bone'; like it was twisted or broken but now as she is three months old it is clear to us that her neck is compacted into her body. She stands off balance but uses her wings freely, runs, bounces and eats (better than the others)! She now has a bit of an ear infection (i think). I'm concerned that it might be related to the crooked neck? She is unable to scratch her face on the side that the ear is gooey so is it just going to be unclean all the time? Could it be related to her digestion somehow because her crop is so close to her ear b/c of the compacted neck? Also, if a chicken is in pain do you think she would still run around, be peppy and eat? In the bottom picture you can see a small bit of skin and it is her neck arching up in her back. I don't know if keeping her alive is more my benefit than hers....
