DeeDee, we just got back from seeing "Prisoners".

I was tense throughout the entire movie. At one point I jumped up and uttered an expletive - bet you can guess when that was. The Princess wants to go back for a second viewing for the same reasons that you express. I did NOT figure it out - frequently I can. Gyllenhaal and Jackman were great. Don't p*ss off Hugh Jackman.
Nothing 'feel good' or relaxing, but what a movie! Nomination worthy for sure in my opinion!
 
Sour I think my brother would agree with you. He felt it was a very good movie but, has no desire to see it again. There are things I would like your thoughts on but, I will pm you so no spoilers are given out.

for Rush. My brother and I are NOT race car fans but strong performances, dramatic twists and turns and white knuckle anxiety(mine) = a movie well worth seeing. I would rate it a bit below Prisoners because I am still mulling Prisoners over and over in my head. I love movies that put my brain to work. Rush kept me glued to the screen but, once I left the theater, I was thinking about lunch.


On the other hand, my brother said he would rate Rush 1/2 star over Prisoners. His usual rating for a movie he likes is 3 1/2 so Rush would rate 4 stars. And yes Chris Helmsworth aka Thor, really can act even without the hammer.
 
I saw Rush on Sunday. It's not your standard car movie. There's a really good story in it. I liked it a lot.

Looking forward to Prisoners if I can talk DH into it (since we went to see Rush, I'm sure he'll go for it lol).
 
Chicken peep actually Hobbit comes in 3 parts. They had a lot of extra footage and wanted extra $$$$. It was supposed to be 2 parts and then greed over came them and it's 3 now. I think the last chapter is next May or June. The Hobbit book was very slim and a short story but, they milked it for all they could. So you have parts 1 and 2 leading up to part 3 with the Dragon Smaug & Gollum,etc.
