Here's our favorite way.

Fry some chopped bacon (amount depends on many beans you're cooking or how much you love bacon!!)
When bacon is crisp, remove pieces and brown some onion in the grease. Add a tablespoon or two of flour to grease and onion and stir until blended. Add canned beans...or cooked fresh beans and the bacon. Don't drain the beans. Salt and pepper to taste. Let cook for awhile to blend flavors.

My favourite way to eat green beans is with crispy garlic. Sautee some sliced garlic in olive oil with a few red pepper flakes. Set aside the garlic and add the beans to the pan. Sautee until they're crisp-tender, add the garlic, season, toss and serve.
