If you have some stories or pics of your chicks/chickens or something to say about chicks and chickens, just say it! That's what the thread us for;D

I have 14 chicks ( two RIR, 6 Bufforpingtons, 3 Black Barred Rock, and we think 3 Rhode Island Whites). They are 3 1/2 weeks old. Do they need something to roost on in the brooder box? Its fairly roomy. It was an old dog pen we found behind the barn that has worked out great. What is the age that you can move the chicks to the chicken coop?

I picked up these three gorgeous girls today, I habe cuddly babies woop woop lol

I like to have a small roost in my brooder, I think it helps them out with balancing on it when they're grownups! I like to move mine into the coop once they can make it through the night without dying, naturally I would wait a while before trying them through the night. Graciesmum you have just gorgeous little chicks! I have two Rir's, two Black sex links, two california greys, and one blue andalusian. They're one and a half months old! I love my girls/possible boy. :D

Im addicted to chickens I think! I want two of every kind I possibly can have!
I just got two new babies today. 2 days old one is a silkie finally I have a puff ball chicken!!!

Same here! After my first two Japanese Bantams died, I joined this site and spend about every free minute I have here. I think I'm chicken crazy!! Just got two cute Buff Orpingtons!

Next year I'm going to get a couple banties, probably a buff orpington, a golden laced wyandotte, and a columbian plymouth rock. Then the year after that I want to hatch some mix breeds from my roo (I think I have an RIR roo) under a broody banty or something. Anybody else have there chick plans for next year?
