Baikal and magellan goose update

Just a little update.Got my first Baikal egg of the year yesterday. And my little magellan gosling got his first feathers in. Got new homes for most of the baby quackers I raised this year and some of my breeders went to new homes as well. Just cutting back a bit in my old age.Ha! ha! Down to about 50 birds total now at my little urban farm. But never quitting!!! Just wanted to share. Lifes good! Hope its good for all my friends on BYC as well! Shawn

It good shawn I wish I had some bakail teal it is so pricey down here, maybe one day. Can t wait for spring down here only 2 months to go...

My collection was growing, reached about 50, but I will probably have to cut back on some birds that I have many pairs of to make room for dream birds like the Baikal Teal. Did you at leas get a picture of the egg? Will you be selling any this fall?

Thanks DeWet . Yea The Baikals are kinda pricey here too unfortunately but always sell out. Whoever has them.. I am giving away the gosling to my old bird buddy that originally got me into keeping birds long ago. He has gave me great stuff in the past for nothing. If Im looking for something tough to this day still he helps me find it and usually cheap. I got him after a female Java right now. LOL! He doesnt do computers so I told him I will try to find him a girl to go with it this fall from someone off the internet if I can as he wants a pair to keep. I will see if I can get a pic or two out maybe today. I got my other baikal trio right before the hen layed from the first pair so they probably didnt have time to settle in good for them to lay. Hopefully with 3 hens well settled in something good happens this year. Ill keep you and everyone posted. Be my luck though they will be like the Magellans and Ill only have one. But oh well. Ill take what I can get. If you do decide you definitely want to keep Baikals this year you better ask around right now to any others who also keep them as I mentioned earlier these always sell out real fast even though they are higher in price. If I am lucky and do happen to get any extras this year I will PM you let you know whats going on.

Ha Ha yea If you and me lived closer together Im sure Id be doing some trading with you and some of the great birds you keep yourself.. I just looked in the other box in the pen and somebody else layed 2 in it. Yahoo! What a surprise.Please all be fertile.
