I found a recipe for a flax seed feed and wanted to know if the Layer Supplement mentioned in the recipe is the same as Layer Feed.

Here is a link to the article with the recipe:

If anyone has other Omega-3 feed recipes they'd like to suggest I'd love to see them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

NO.

In the world of feed manufacture a Supplement is a feed ingredient that contains the vitamins, trace minerals, salt, macro minerals, and possibly a portion of the protein needed to make a complete feed. It does not contain the grain component of the feed.

Thanks Jim, so I need 25 kg of Layer Supplement following this recipe.

Wheat
Oats
Layer Supplement
Flaxseed
Limestone
Canola oil 40 kg
15 kg
25 kg
10 kg
8 kg
2 kg
----------
Total 100 kg

Any recommendations for a good Layer Supplement to add to this mix?

Kent GM Poultry Base
Hubbard Chicken-n-Egg Concentrate

Both of those products are CONCENTRATES not Supplements which means they contain the protein component of the feed too. They both would contain all the calcium needed for the layer so there would be no need to add additional limestone.
