I crossed a cream legbar roo with a lemon blue cochin... and I am now confused about the gender. Two hatched with spots on the back of the head (which would indicate males in full blood cream legbar), and one hatched with eyeliner (female in full blood). Unfortunately the eyeliner chick did not make it but the ones with the spots on the head did. I fully expected them to be male, but now going on two months the combs are staying pretty small and they do not seem to fight around with the other young roos. I posted a pic of one, but they both look very similar.

It's at that stage where it could turn into a boy tomorrow.

However, if I saw it for sale at farmer's market I would buy it so I'd guess female for now.

Yeah I thought the same, but they had the head spot and looked like little roos before they had this much feathering... I am HOPING for females bc they will have a very pretty green egg if they are.

got a similar thing going on just differnet types of parents (same colors thou) I think the head spot just means it'll be barred but I could be wrong. I have just noticed this in my chicks
