Just wondering if someone could tell me the kind of chickens that lay colored eggs. I remember them when I was growing up. Also would those chickens get along with pheasants?

The normal breeds in the US that lay colored eggs are Ameraucana and Araucana. Others are rare.

But you won’t get true Ameraucanas or Araucanas from hatcheries, you’ll get Easter Eggers. Easter Eggers are not a breed but are chickens that might or might not lay blue or green eggs. You’d have to get true Ameraucanas or Araucanas from breeders.

Like most other animals, if you have sufficient room they’ll get along. If space is tight, you could have problems.

Legbars also lay blue eggs. I wouldn't say they are any more rare than an Araucana, and I know quite a few who raise them. So they may be your cup of tea if the Araucanas or Ameraucanas are not your thing.
