Hello
These are the other chickens I inherited. They are said to be 6 month old black australorps. Can you tell me if they are hens or roos ? Thanks so much

Yay that would be great ! I'm a new chicken owner and I inherited these chickens as well as a turken hen and two easter eggers. They look a little small for there age and like they've been pecked on. I'm hoping with a good diet and free ranging they will blossom into beautiful hens. Thanks for the info !

Our BA's roo's had considerably bigger combs and wattles at that age, really stood out.

These look like a possible mix though, quite lean upright bodies, but confident both are girls.

Bit to go before they lay yet though.

The black birds are female. I'm not sure they're Australorps, they're pretty lean and Aussies are usually more fluffy, but they could just be not-so-stellar hatchery quality.

I don't think they're 6 months, more like 4.

The black and white bird behind them looks to be an Easter egger rooster of the same approximate age. You can see saddle feathers sprouting above the tail. The color is also male.
