I think my chickens have coryza. They have swollen faces, are gasping for air, and aren't laying well. My problem is that I CAN'T CURE IT!!! I have tried sulmet, durymicen, and tylan50, with nothing working!!! It is slowly getting worse ( they've had it for months now) I don't know what to do! My neighbors chickens have it, and I'm wondering if that's why mine aren't getting better ( getting it from his) but he won't treat his birds. What can I do????

There is no cure for respiratory diseases, only treatments. Sulfa drugs including sulmet treat coryza. The problem is that since the sulmet is mixed in water, sick birds wont drink, and if they do it's usually not enough to be effective. Additionally there's a possibility that mycoplasma gallisepticum might be a player as well. Coryza sick birds exude a foul odor around the head area. If there's no foul odor, you could be dealing with a severe strain of mycoplasma gallisepticum instead of coryza. Sulmet is ineffective against MG.
I recommend that you have a necropsy performed on your sickest bird with the University of Georgia vet med school to find out exactly what you're dealing with or contact your county extension agent. Your other option is to cull your sick birds, disinfect everything and wait several months before repopulating.

No sickening smell,at all. Thats the problem though, all the birds are eating and drinking fine, their faces just look weird, that's why I would hate to kill them. Is there any med thhat is known to treat either of the diseases you mentioned? thanks for helping!

If they are laying eggs, are there any weird or wrinkled looking eggs?

Leathery/wrinkled eggs with watery whites would be an indicator of Infectious Bronchitis (IB.)
IB is a virus with no cure. Only a necropsy would tell for sure exactly what you're dealing with.

So I can only treat symptoms, not actually treat them? How much are most necropsies? and is there any meds that will treat symptoms until I am able to get a necropsy? thanks for helping!

Ok, In 4 months I've only gotten two odd eggs, they have swollen heads, and gasp when they eat dry feed. No sneezing, coughing or runny nose, only one is swollen badly in the sinuses. The rest is just a slight swelling around the eyes. I won't be able to go get a necropsy for some time, but is there anything that I ca give to alleviate symptoms? No bad smell
