Can you make a hen go broody? Wonderful question well i asked this on a thread a couple weeks ago, and yes you can however it it doesn't always work. Sometimes the hen gets up and the eggs get cold. And sometimes you think the hen is setting but actually she just relaxing in a box

. At my farm we have a white silkie who went broody a week ago, but got up to go out in the morning. Supposedly if you give a hen a nice clutch of eggs she will set. I tried with about five hens, and finally our silkie pullet settled. Day two and she hasn't budged. Shes setting on seven eggs...scracth that lol get it, eight. Try it and tell me how it works.

WARNING- this is not a proven method...Good luck though

good luck with this! One of my pullets went super broody in November - wouldn't give up for 10 days and I caved and gave her 5 eggs. She sat on them for 20 days and then I came home from work and she was hanging out on the fence like a factory worker taking a smoke break - I went in and the eggs were stone cold. Tried to incubate them but too late. 5 beautiful fully formed chicks inside...
