Happy Hen Chicken Rescue!

Those are some lucky chickens! Good thing my pullets don't go on Backyard Chickens, they'd kill me once they found out how awful their coop is!

When are you moving chicksies in?

Well thanks alot "theawesomechick". Now I have to restock up on Kleenex. Forty-five minutes of crying uses up alot of tissues! That was so sad even with the happy ending. I am a vegan with the exception of whatever eggs my rescued hens feel like laying. The last several scenes of factory farm conditions were unbearable for me to watch, but I think every human should watch this.

Yes, every human should. The least we can be are witnesses of what is going on in factory farms.

I moved 2 roosters into the coop last night, now the hard part - finding a place that will let my take their spent battery hens.

Wish me luck! Lol!

So sad.
The b/w hen in my picture was killed by a fox right in front of me and her 3 companions as we all screamed helplessly. As I ran after him, he dropped her lifeless body in the woods. It was my first and so far only hen casualty and I was in tears for over a month. Most people around here thought I was crazy. But I was devastated and filled with the guilt that I hadn't protected her as I'd promised.
