Jumping into breeding OEGB's!

I did! Thanks for asking!

I bred my Blue boy to my Crele hens, hoping to get barred, and I did! I also got what I think may be a lemon blue, a blue crele, and two blacks. I will try to post photos tomorrow, but my camera has been going wacky, so if not, I promise I'll get some soon. :)

Cool lets see some pics!

Sorry for the delay.

My project has turned into breeding for sex-linked OEGBs. The first breeding gave me all black female chicks, and male chicks with down that looked like barred rocks. The females didn't get barred plumage, like the males did, but instead stayed black. Except one pullet who is blue and has lemon leakage/lacing on her hackles and chest feathers. The males are barred, though not quite how I would like my barred oegbs to look. One cockerel was blue, however, and has a lot of orange barring on his hackles.

Here he is. The light doesn't show it, but he is blue.

This is what my barred cockerels look like.

I purchased a pair of these from the feedstore, as I was interested in their coloring. The male looks completely different from the female.

Updated pics of the barred boys.

They are GORGEOUS. The photos do not do them justice.

Recent photos of my latest hatch. This girl just started laying eggs.

If anyone has any input, I would love to know your thoughts on her type (even though the photos aren't the best).
