I need troubleshooting help. I just started set my first round of ergs in my new Brinsea Mini Advance. When the turning function happens. The egg themselves are not rotating. The cog/motor/ disk is working properly and turning, but the eggs are not. I am using the 7 egg disk with 7 cream legbar eggs. Eggs are not touching one another. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hmm, strange- I have a Brinsea Mini Advance as well- and little cog-wheel turner worked for me- does the weel still turn, but the eggs don't?
Make sure the eggs are placed in the little egg-shaped cutouts, with their shells directly touching the plastic- then check the intervals that the turner is set to- if the intervals are too short, maybe they are turning, but you don't notice?

If the turning does not work, you may have to hand-turn the eggs. This requires making a visible pencil mark on each egg, like an X or an O, then twice, or sometimes three times a day, you switch the side that the X is on. So, every morning, turn the eggs so the X is downward. Then at noon, turn the X back upward, then at night, turn the X downward, and continue on from there.

I understand you want an awesome hatch rate with those Legbars!

I thought mine weren't turning either on my first use...but manually turned it and had x and o's marked on the eggs....I also had a piece of blue tape on the side near one egg so could tell that it had moved when I wasn't seeing it.

I have the eggs marked. The wheel/cog is turning properly, but the eggs just aren't rotating. It's manual turning for now. If I don't figure it out today I'll call Brinsea tomorrow. Thanks for the troubleshooting help!

Ha ha! I'm glad you figured it out! Don't feel embarrassed- that little water-well cover was left in my box for my first two hatches, before I realized it was supposed to prevent drowning...
Fingers crossed for a good hatch!

Mine is dragging as well? Pretty sure its not upside down.... could you post a pic of the proper way to have it? Im manually turning now, but bought this so my children wouldn't want to handle th eggs.

You'll see the injection molding dots on the bottom. The top also looks more finished. But it is subtle and hard to photograph. When I flipped mine over and rest the eggs, it let the eggs sit slightly lower so they made contact with the spinning disk and this turned. I would recommend just trying to flip it and seeing if that works. The auto flip is great! Good luck, I hope it works for you too.

I know this is an old post, but I am questioning if mine are turning? Do the eggs stay in the same place. Mine haven't moved from their original location and I thought the disc would turn. I am manually turning them now. They have only been in for two days.
