Trying to find the rules for having chickens in Clinton MA - not having much luck online. I know of families who have them - we got chicks this weekend and for my own peace of kind I want to know it's ok to have them. Some say it's ok some say it's not.

The link above is your local bylaws.
Page 7 down at bottom: look for 3230 Residential Accessory Uses, and the subhead 3231 Animals: it only regulates livestock, and it gives a restriction on putting animal housing on the property line. You must be set back 25 feet from all property lines. And it seems that if animals are stinky or unhealthy, or causing rodent problems, it goes to Health Department. So, what do they mean by "livestock"?
In the definitions explanation, page 49, it states that anything not defined falls back to Commonwealth definitions. That is the link below:

https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXV/Chapter94/Section118

It defines poultry and livestock seperately. Poultry are not included as livestock.

The last link below, just talks about exempt and nonexempt agriculture uses. Unless you have > 2 acres, You cannot be in business for agricultural purposes.

Well, that was fun! It looks like MA and your town have pretty fair laws that are minimally controlling...nice....
