I have an older Hovabator incubator from before the new style update. It is square and does not have a model number on it. I have the original instructions and it's just called a "Hova-Bator Incubator: Thermal Air Flow Model. They were printed in 1993. It is a still air one with a wafer thermostat. I would like to upgrade it rather than pitch it. I could not find any threads about the topic. I'm hoping to someone can direct me to a thread or a video link that is not too technical. I want to add a fan and a more modern electronic thermostat to it. I know I can get a computer fan at Radio Shack on eBay and probably a thermostat too, but would not have a clue which one to get or how to connect them. I went to the GQF site and, interestingly, the part number for the fan they recommend is the same part number from 1993, but it says "New model". They also has an extension ring available back then that would raise the height inside the incubator to make it taller (Brooder height?) I am also thinking of modifying the top to have a picture window since the 2 little windows on it are quite small. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
