I bough chicks from tsc today, and let me say this is not my first rodeo with chicks. They are in like one of the metal livestock tanks like tsc keeps them in, only bigger. They have their heat lamp, and if they get too warm plenty of room to move away from iT.
I bought 6 bantams, and 6 black austrolorps.
One of the bantams is panting. I showed it where the food and water is, it has drank by itself, was not panting in the store, but it started panting almost immediately after getting it home.
Could it be stressed?
I have vitamins in the water, always do that with all my chicks. I was thinking maybe it was too warm, but there is more than enough room for it to get out of the heat. All the other ones are running around like the crazy little chicks they are.
Any idea?
