I was just out in the coop checking on my broody's and one of the hens has an egg under her that appears to have been stepped on by her. The membrane is not broken and I can hear the baby cheeping inside. What do I do????

No one has had experience with this!?!I just checked and the chick that's in the shell that is the most crushed is still alive but the membrane is starting to shrink in. It appears that the hen must be crushing it more because it's really broken now. I know I should just let nature run its course but it will make me sad if they die when they are alive and chirping.
How do you know if the yolk has been absorbed, you don't, right?
