Hi woman...I was over at the other place cross posting.
Yeah TH night sux, I'd have to ask off for Friday-lol

I have been here and not too impressed. There are mostly mixed breeds. Conner Prairie does give some of their extras to this auction but you never know what will be there...you are taking your chances. A lot of roosters too. I'm not impressed with how the animals are treated and they are auctioned off in a giant, smoke-filled barn. Personally, I just got an icky feeling, but that's just me.

Hello,
I am one of the new managers at Strawtown Livestock Auction. I would like people to know that we have made improvements to the sale barn and have been getting in some very nice birds this spring so if you get the chance please come and check us out. The sale starts at 6:00 every Thursday evening. Our web page is www.strawtownlivestockauction.googlepages.com
Thank you

I have gone to strawtown many times in the past and went a couple of times this year. I have been really disappointed, they sell a lot of junk in there that they say is allowed since it's farm related. There are quite a few roosters but hardly any hens the last several times I've been. The junk is stuff like ladders, old used buckets and they even let someone put a trash bag of straw thru the auction. I was so disappointed the last time that I will never go back. I feel it's a waste of time to sit and watch the junk sell and then absolutely no good chickens and 1 cage of hens.

Went to Strawtown and the auctioneer in the ring was taking bids on his own animals and running up the bid. Caught him doing it twice on the same birds. He then got mad at me for not bidding more. He got me back though I bid $12 on a family of ducks and he pinned it on me for $20. Crooks!! Stay away from strawtown. May be 1am before you sell your stuff. They have a group of people that have pre-numbers to sell. I was 2nd to bring animals in one time and I was #27; 1 am before they sold and you can guess how many people stayed for that! ----Knightstown Livestock Auction --bird part of the auction is over within an hour and half, it is on Saturday and they start selling small animals at 10 am.
