Is there anyway to keep the geese off the drive way and away from the garden? I heard tinsel will scare them to not cross it is that true if not would a fake owl keep them away or some kind if spray on the plants to where they taste gross?

I want them to be able to free range they have 5 acres but persist to stay on the driveway and started eating the hostas

Mine have completely destroyed my Hosta, can't even tell there ever were any.

fencing is about the only way to keep them away from places you don't want them.

My geese ate everyone of the hosta's I use to have. Fencing is the only way to keep them out and 2 foot or higher because mine will go right over the small fences!
Thank goodness they must be a safe plant eh RURU. lol Caught Sammy eating on my Sedum Autumn Joy. put a stop to that quick. thank goodness it isn't inside where they can munch at will.

I didn´t mean to fence your geese, but fence your entrance-way,.. you can make it look really pretty witha low fence, maybe a picket fence, and it´ll keep the geese off.

I wqs thinking a short fence was 2 to 3 ft. I have 3 ft (as opposed to 6', unnecessary) to keep them out of my veg patch and it works realy. well. I reckona 2 and half ft picket fence would look really nice and do the trick...but the gaps would have to be less than the width of a goose head.

I have some bird-of-paradise plants here. They don´t eat them, they just snap off all the leaves! And the small saplings, too...everything has to have a little fence around it until it´s out of their reach, and even then they´ll nibble at some of the bark, so we have to keep an eye on the keen little gardeners!
