Does the molting process affect fertility of turkey eggs.
I have a couple of toms. A royal palm main breeder was going thru a molt he only had one feather left in his fan. When he strutted looked like alfala from little rascals. I watched him breed hens during this time.
My other tom a bourbon red is penned with 3 hens. He was a proven breeder with these hens.
Some of the hens were molting also. Anyway seems like most of the eggs I have gotten seem to be infertile over last couple weeks. I know molt can effect egg production. But I didn't know it could possibly effect fertility.
I could see 1 tom going bad but not both ar sametime frame.
Am I missing something else that might be going on.
