The first breed I remember having (about five decades ago) were Light Brahmas.
I just started my first flock:
Barred Rock
White Cochin
Buckeye
Buff Orpington
Easter Egger
Black Australorp
They're just babies. 4-5 weeks old, but I'm lovin different things about all of them, no favorite breed/bird yet!

I'm on my first flock also. Barnvelders, born June 9th!
I didn't have a say on what breeds my mom had, but when I was on my own the first birds I got were Easter eggers.

Well, I think I'll add mine as it's rather unusual... my first was a pair of Yokohamas. When I started showing (in 4H), my main breed was Modern Game bantams.
I started with two Old English Black Single Comb bantams and one BB Red Old English Bantam.
