I need help!!
I have a baby check whose eye is swollen shut from his mother pecking him (I've separated them). There are no other chick's left and his second eye has also swollen shut. I don't know what I can and can't use one him, and he can't see to eat or drink. I can't afford even the smallest expense right now, but I really want to save him. He seems so weak now.
Please please please help!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! So sorry about your chick, hopefully you will get some advice in the Emergencies section TwoCrows gave you, hope the chick is OK.

Maybe if you hold a dish up to him he will eat and drink. He is probably dehydrating and hungry because he can't see and his eyes no doubt hurt him. He may eat some plain yogurt if you put some on a finger tip and just put it inside his mouth so he can taste it.

How old is he? Chicks generally need a heat lamp until they are fully feathered out. In a brooder
the temp would be 95 degrees at hatch, and then lowered 5 degrees every week. If he is lonely give him a small stuffed toy to cuddle up with.

If you post on the emergencies thread please do so in as much detail as possible.
