A friend that lives down the street has red golden pheasants and offered us all his eggs. So we put them under a broody hen. On june 20th last year, one of them hatched, but of course wr had mixed old english eggs with them and couldnt tell. He turned out to be the only pheasant to hatch and only one old english hatched. So they basically raise theirselves together. We tried hatching them in the incubator this year 4 times, and every single tims they died before they hatched! We experimented the humidity as well. Our chickens hatched, but no pheasants. The first batch made it up to tne last few days, the second one was a little farther behind, and the third batch had mostly infertile. This most recent batche 's chicks only made it to around the 7 dah mark. What are we doing wrong?
We decided then that from now on we will hatch under a silkie, but of course, egg laying is done.
