Peacock newbie with lots of questions

what is/are super worms?  I'm new to owning peacocks (2 male yearlings) and guineas.

Thanks!!!

Nice looking peas in your avatar!

Super worms I think are also sometimes called king worms, they're huge mealworms. Too big for small chicks to eat unless they're cut in half. They are a great way to get extra protein into a sick bird and they're also a good treat for them. I'll post a picture later. :D

Some "brands" of super worms don't breed like meal worms,I assume they are a different insect.

That is a cool page. You can breed your own Crickets too. I never knew that

I ask the manager at petco what a superworm was and she told me a mealworm that was fed steriods and she was serious LMAO! They were the only worms that had no dead ones in the container. I have taken them and placed them in a container with oats, bran and chicken feed that I put in a magic bullet and turned to powder. I did add an apple slices for water and they eat and drank, once I was satisfied that they had my food in them I fed them to the birds

Now I know why they never turned into a beetle LOL Thanks Kathy for the link I did appriciate it

Glad you liked it! You know, some always seem to escape in the house and every now and then a big, nasty, stinky beetle will walk across the floor.
