My daughter found one of our pet mallards in pieces this morning by our pond. Both wings were torn off and scattered close to the body and the head was about 12 inches away from the body. It was not eaten just dismembered. Any idea what would do this.Do ducks bleed like deer? I saw no blood.
 
Do you have a body of water near your house or coop? I have a pond right next to my coop andfor every body of water there is 1 mink and minks will do that to chickens and ducks. that has happened to me twice. Minks are like vampires, they drink the blood and mangle the body. it could also be a raccoon too.
 
I am so sorry you and your daughter had to see and experience this type of loss. I raise mallards, and anytime I lose one it is a very bad day, but I can't imagine your loss. Very sorry.
