Help with Strange Mandarin Duckling Color?!

@Orca5094
Sure I'll post some pictures when I get the chance! They are just coming into the wonderfully awkward and scruffy juvenile→adult stage. Can hardly wait for their sleek adult plumage!

I love Florida "Winters" haha! Having pretty mild Winter months in Texas, my other birds (mostly Finches) breed all year long outdoors. I have about 50ish baby Zebra Finches about to fledge in my aviary, and Every one of my Gouldians have eggs or chicks too! Quite a nice change from raising birds in Colorado!

Ok so I think the duckling may had have a little thing going on in the egg its the same in how I am whiter than my sister just a little skin color mutation when she was still in moms belly.
Or this happens a few times, that when you order ducklings most of them look the same so maybe they putt a different duck in by mistake.

Chris Hi, I was following your thread about the Mandarin Duckling that looked different. Was wondering if you had any updates you could share.

I just wanted to let the OP know that the odd colored duckling is actually a wood duck. If you could post updated pictures I could confirm that. A mandarin duck hen has a white line behind her eye while a wood duck hen has white around her eye. There is also a slight difference in their body color.
