my cats killed one of my chickens, what now?

The kids have begged me to try keeping them as indoor cats so I'm considering it. Seems unfair to them as they have lived most of their lives outside, coming home for the night mostly. They aren't enjoying being closed up today. My poor girls are to scared to leave the coop today. Which brings me to another question about introducing baby chickens but I'll start a new thread for that. Thank you all for your support, yesterday was a really hard day around here.

Did they do it at night? If they did, then it's best to let the chickens out in the day time and put them back in the coop at night time. Also another thing is, keep them seperated, maybe have the cats in a cage when they're outside or just keep them inside, and let the chickens out. Then you can transition, the cats can be out at night, and the chickens inside the coop at night. Hope this helps and
