My Duck May Be Egg Bound

What jumped out to me was "phytates in cereal grains."
Thanks, I missed that! Glad you pointed that out... gotta re-think what I'm feeding my birds, especially my peafowl and ducks! This is one of the feeds they *love*.

For 1 week now, my khaki campbell duck looks like she is egg bound. she is eating and is like she usually is but she has a big bump underneath her and
I want to know if this is "egg-bound".. it has been 1 week now that I noticed this. you can see in the first picture that there is a huge egg-like lump. It does not seem to be bothering her however. I am giving her warm baths. We have no vets nearby and no bird vet at all in our area. So if she is egg bound I will need to do some research.

Thank you for any help...

If it does not feel like an egg (be careful not to break it if it is), it may be water belly, or ascites. In your research if you find gloomy predictions, just remember ducks can get through some very serious illness if helped.

Time in a lukewarm tub should help her no matter what.

I need to look up the definition of water belly and ascites. She is not any different than usual and now my son tells me that the other mommy ducks have the same lump in the same area...
so maybe this is a normal thing???

They have not laid an egg in over 3 months however. They each made their nests and had about 10 eggs each and then most of those hatched but the ducklings are 2 months old now. Shouldn't they be laying eggs again?

All three of my outside ducks have those (I think they're called lobes) They just feel like a flap of skin. I'm pretty sure they're normal as long as they aren't causing them any discomfort and don't feel like they're full of liquid. When I flip my ducks on their backs the "lobes" disappear.
